(Proverbs 7:17 KJV) I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
You may not recognize it but this is an invitation to sin.
Sin will always find new ways to express itself. How many of you find it seductive to sprinkle cinnamon on your bed? Is a treatment for sunburn alluring? How many of us even know what myrrh is? Today it is probably a rock band and still sinful. In Solomon’s time this was a way to temp people to sin.
Today the words are different but the goal is the same. Satan will use anything to drag us away from the One True God. The new is an open invitation to sin, not because the new is sinful in itself but because we don’t have conditioned responses built in. I was a kid when TV entered the mainstream. My grandmother was the living definition of Old Fashioned but she had a TV. She would let us watch it. She did not deny the use of the technology. She, however, also had a discernment about its potential evil. She would not let us watch “shooting programs.” She would stand in front of the screen and turn the volume down when cigarette commercials came on. We bounced between resenting her and laughing at her actions. She had the wisdom of age and the discernment of the Holy Spirit.
So? Keep your eyes open. Watch out for the myrrh of our age and take care. Either avoid it or approach with caution. Don’t let sin sprinkle the bed of your life.

There's certainly plenty of "myrrh" out there!
And it is even more dangerous than Murphy's Law.
Grace and peace.
