(Proverbs 20:18 KJV) Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.
We are to have a “purpose” (plans NASB) (4284). It is to be “established” (prepare NASB) (3559). As believers it is not enough to fly by the seat of our pants and call it living by faith. There are times for that, yes, but it is not our default mode of operation.
I wonder what the difference is between “counsel” (consultation NASB) (6098) and what post modernism is calling “collaboration”? The main difference that comes to mind is the clear declaration of authority in consultation. You know who is in charge. When you get advice you are under no illusion about who makes the final decision. There is an honesty.
So? Plan for tomorrow. It may not be too late to plan for today. Consult with wise, godly people you know. Consult with the word. Above all listen.
