Attitude makes a lot of difference. It can be the difference between a comment being a joke or an insult. It can be the difference between rebuke and rejection.
How does God see your attitude today? He will respond to your attitude as much as He will to your actions. The Bible is full of examples of this. For instance, most people are familiar with one of the great promises of God:
(Micah 6:8 KJV) He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?This is God with an eye on why we do what we do. Most don’t go back and read the verse before it:
(Micah 6:7 KJV) Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? This is a rhetorical question. In case you don’t get it, the answer is, “No, God will not be pleased with empty actions.”
So do an attitude check today. Make sure that you are not just going through the motions on the outside while your heart seethes with rebellion. God knows and responds.
