People like to quote Paul about “righteousness” (6666).
(Romans 3:10 KJV) As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:They usually do so to make a theological point rather than a consistent Biblical point. The consistent Biblical point is that people are sinful creatures and left to their own devices are selfish and lost. The Biblical point is that we cannot save ourselves by following rules. The Biblical point is not that we cannot live righteous lives.
If that were the point of Romans 3:10 then we would have to follow the example of Thomas Jefferson and the modern gay movement and take scissors to the Bible. We would need to remove everything we did not like. It would leave gapping holes in Proverbs.
So? Live a righteous life. Be upright. Don’t try to slide by and say it can’t be done. You may fool your local theologian but you won’t fool God and you can’t fool yourself.

Such verses as Romans 3:10 are only a problem to those who insist on taking every verse as a stand-alone philosophy. I know a lot of folks that like to quote the verse about the camel and the eye of the needle, while ignoring the point a couple verses later that all things are possible with the Lord. As you've mentioned before, some folks just use the Bible to back up their preconceived notions.
Right. And since we are all human, we all tend to do it some. I pray for awareness and being teachable.
Grace and peace.
