(Proverbs 12:7 KJV) The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.
This does not say the “righteous” (6662) will “stand” (5975). It says the “house” (1004) of the righteous will stand. There is a difference. If you understand “house” to refer to the body, which it can, this would be an individual promise but the vast majority of times it is used, it is corporate in the sense of household.
There is a promise here but it becomes more of a principle than a specific. The promise is that the family of God, the righteous, will not be destroyed. That does not mean that you as an individual will not go through hard times. It is a promise for our children and our community of believers.
So? We have a different perspective. We look at things in the context of eternity not what’s for dinner. Or at least we should. I find that I need to cultivate a God’s-eye view of life. It is so easy to fall into the things I can only see without my spiritual glasses. Just a reminder.
