(Proverbs 2:8 KJV) He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.
We hear a lot of talk about “justice” (Judgement KJV) (4941) in our modern culture. Usually the word is preceded by an adjective like “social”. The addition of that adjective removes all reference to the justice the Bible speaks of. Notice the purpose given to this justice. It is to “preserve” (8104) the “way” (1870) of the “godly ones” (2623).
Justice is not some ethereal concept. Justice effects people’s lives. The purpose of justice is not to achieve equality but to carve out an atmosphere that allows righteousness to flourish. Justice is not value neutral. It is also not defined by the current reigning philosophy. It is eternal.
So? Be reminded, and warned. What your university professor calls justice probably is not something you should be seeking. What God calls justice your professor would reject. It is hard to accept but righteousness is different that politically correct. It also pays different dividends.
