(Proverbs 25:17 KJV) Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour's house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee.
The KJV and the NASB have a different point of view for the same problem. The KJV assumes that you have already made a nuisance of yourself. You need to “withdraw” (3365) when your welcome is worn out. The NASB seems to be proactive, “rarely” go. The word means to be precious and highly valued so I guess the root idea is to treasure and protect the time you have with other people. It is part of the Biblical standard of moderation. Too much of anything leads to satiation and a loss of appreciation.
So? Be sensitive to how other people are responding to your visits. It is one of those things that will be different for everyone.

Perhaps the best way to judge that is by how often they visit YOU. Back when I was a more sociable creature, I used to get this "you need to stop by more often." I always reminded them that the road traveled BOTH ways. Most looked a little irritated after I said it, so I visited even less (most were in-laws and relatives).
And you were probably both happier. Caller ID on phones is a real asset.
Grace and peace.
