This verse seems to be the flip side of verse 14.
(Proverbs 24:14 KJV) So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.The NASB is better here with the use of “future” (319) to the “reward” of the KJV. In fact these two verses are the only places the KJV translates the Hebrew this way.
I think this is a verse of promise for this world and the next. I think there is a lot of support in the Bible for teaching that righteous believers enjoy life more than the rebellious. It is true that we face persecution. It is true that my main experience is in the brief bubble that we call America. It is true that at times God allows us to go through suffering for reasons we can’t understand. It is also true that we have a hope for today and tomorrow.
So? It is a challenge to live in faith when the children are sick and the government is sicker. In spite of that we can be like Paul, singing hymns while in chains. It should drive the world crazy.

And it does.
I guess that is one of the joys of life.
Grace and peace
