An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Jalapenos

(Proverbs 27:1 KJV)  Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

What should our attitude be toward the future?  Sometimes “tomorrow” (4279) holds the concerns of surgery or a court appearance.  These are planned and dreaded.  Sometimes we look to a wedding or a graduation with mixed emotions.  Then there are the times when life just blind sides us.

Anticipation can be a spice of life.  Even that can go either way.  Some people like jalapeno and some people don’t.  My wife is a big party person.  I am a quiet dinner with two friends person.  It makes a difference.

Attitude also makes a difference and I think that is what this is about.  Ultimately we need to always keep in mind that tomorrow is in God’s hands, not ours, the doctor’s or the judge’s.  Keep in mind that if God could make Pharaoh let His people go, He can deal with your tyrants.

So?  Anticipate the adventure.  Develop an attitude of trust and confidence.  Do your best to confuse those who are out to get you.
