(Pro 1:5 KJV) A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
This is a reminder that we can always continue to grow. I would imagine that many people would agree with that. One problem is that as we get older we tend to run out of energy, or we just get lazy. It is also harder to find things we don’t already know.
Part of growing in wisdom is recalling things we knew but have forgotten. Sometimes it is a deliberate setting aside but often just overload. For those of us who have walked in the Way for a time we find that much of what the pastor has to say on Sunday is stuff we already know. The key for us is to allow the Holy Spirit to make it fresh for us.
Part of the difficulty is finding wisdom that we can trust. I find that I don’t go to my Bible commentaries much any more. The reason is that with increased knowledge I am more aware of their bias and theological presuppositions. It is sometimes hard to tell the difference between scholarship and advocacy. Some would say there is no difference. For that reason I find myself more interested in cross references in my Bible than the footnotes by the editor. I also find that my concordance is a better source of cross references than the suggestions in the margin.
So? We can never coast. We need to keep listening, thinking and pondering. At least I do.

Concordances are much underused assets to Bible study.
And I used to see them in a lot of used books sales. I guess anything that takes a bit of effort is off the table.
Grace and peace
