(Pro 9:16 KJV) Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
This is a good verse to remind us of why it can be useful to compare translations. I was looking at the KJV and my mind was being fooled by what seemed simple English. I made the assumption that to “want” (2638) something means to have a desire for it. Compare that to the NASB which has “lacks”.
(Pro 9:16 NAS77) "Whoever is naive, let him turn in here," And to him who lacks understanding she says,I know the meaning of “want” that was being used but I was not thinking.
So? Never stop thinking. Never stop paying attention. Sometimes it changes things.
