Worms

(Pro 12:4 Brenton)  A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband; but as a worm in wood, so a bad woman destroys her husband.

Reading different translations give interesting ideas even if you can’t count on the accuracy.  The English translation of the Septuagint is a case in point.  This verse has an interesting twist.  I found the word picture of a worm eating wood interesting.  I checked a Greek text I have of the Septuagint and the word was there.  I tried to find it in the Hebrew version by using the numbering system and could find nothing to compare.  I am assuming it is not in the Hebrew and was added by someone.

Being around certain types of people can hollow you out inside.  In this case it is specifically a certain type of wife.  I imagine the charge can go for men also but that is not the statement here.  

There is no solution given for the problem.  That gives me two insights.  Accept that some people are that way and it is not your fault.  The second is, don’t be one of those people.

So?  We have a lot to say about the kind of person we are.  If you read the description of love in I Corinthians 13 you will notice that love is a conscious choice.  It is not an emotion.  Only you know which part of the definition you need to work on.  I will do me.  You do you.
