(Pro 10:11 KJV) The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
There is a pattern in this chapter and probably in others. We see that “mouth” (6310) is used twice but the effects of the mouths are different. It occurred to me that it is not so much our talents or situations that make the difference but how we use them. How we use them could also be the difference between a talent and a gift.
This can be easily demonstrated with the gift of giving as compared to the talent for investing. In each case wealth is going out. In both cases it is necessary to have the wealth to use. In one the wealth is given with no thought of return and the result is blessing. With the other there is an expectation and often the results do not advance righteousness.
So? It isn’t what you have but how you use it. We all know people born with every advantage that end up a walking disaster. Allowing God to call the shots and following His principles can keep us from being one of those train wrecks.
