(Pro 29:27 KJV) An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.
Living a life of righteousness is not a thought experiment. Notice the phrase “in the way (1870)”. This is pointing out that our theories need to have rubber-meeting-the-road realities. We are to live what we believe.
You will find this description used in Acts to describe the early church. Before they were called Christians, which was meant as an insult, they were called “the Way”. Was that a coincidence? I don’t think so. It is an emphasis that a life that is not lived in righteousness is a life that does not reflect the presence of Jesus.
So? Is this a demand that we be faultless? No. If that were how it worked we would have none of the letters of Paul written to deal with faults. Go forth and live Jesus.
