An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

A Reminder

(1Co 15:19 KJV)  If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

The resurrection of Jesus is a key element, not only in our lives, but in the life of the world.  If there is no resurrection, there is no hope.  If there is no eternal life then this life becomes nothing but the accident the evolutionists believe in.  If there is nothing but this life, then we need to adopt  the motto of that beer company, that said, “You only go round once in life, grab for all the gusto you can.”

What a futile and frustrating way to live. It brings to mind that song, “Is that all there is, then let’s keep dancing.”

So? Rejoice. We have a hope that is not just an empty wish, but it is a fulfilling promise. We have an assurance. We are definitely not miserable.
