(1Pe 1:1 KJV) Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
(Proverbs 23 also read)
When Peter writes to a certain group of people who are located in what is today Turkey, they become the strangers in the King James Bible, and “aliens” in the New American Standard. This is a good reminder to us that we are not supposed to fit into our world. We are called to a higher calling. We need to remember that.
Remember this song?
This world is not my homeSo? We should keep this in mind. This is just a temporary home that we live in. God has called us to be witnesses, salt, light, but not monuments.
I’m just a passing through.
My treasures are laid up
Somewhere beyond the blue.
