An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

A Dove, Not a Chicken

Psalms 68:13 (KJV) Though ye have lien among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold.

(Proverbs 28 also read)

I have speculated on how some people think that God is a chicken because there are places where it talks about being covered by his wings.  I even think it talks about being chicks running under those wings, but that could just be my addition.  Here we see specifically that God is a dove, not a chicken.

Actually, I don’t think that is the point of this verse. What David is trying to get across is that God sheltered us in the past, shelters us today and will shelter us tomorrow.

So relax. He’s in charge and you are one of His concerns.
